Calling all sun seekers, adventure hunters, lovers of the great outdoors, little explorers, and our four-legged friends – it’s time for a break!

If, like so many others, your holiday plans have been put asunder in the last few months, fear not!  The solution is simple; forget queues on the slip roads, crowds at the airport, rushing to find the shuttle from your car to the right terminal, and instead think ‘stay-cation!’ We have the perfect stay-cation-destination for you at South Winchester Lodges, set in beautiful English countryside, near Winchester.

So, what does the average person look for in a holiday? Activities for the kids, activities for the adults, a luxurious place to lay your head, Wi-Fi, flat screen TV, easy access to local attractions, your own facilities so you can look after your family’s needs, somewhere to get-away-from-it-all and really feel like you are away and relaxed. We are pleased to let you know that we have it all right here at South Winchester Lodges.

Our local city, Winchester, is positively dripping in history. This ancient capital is home to our beautiful Cathedral, the final resting place for Jane AustenKing Arthur’s round table, the ruins of Wolvesey Castle and the Winchester City Mill, a working 18th-century corn mill. Otters, kingfishers and herons playing in the River Itchen… and the list goes on.

You can enjoy Winchester whilst staying in your own luxurious 5-star lodge. We know the world is still a little crazy right now, so please rest assured, we have you covered.  Here are just some of the measures we are taking to keep you safe during your stay:

  • We have been awarded the “We’re good to go Industry Standard” from Visit Britain! This means we are following Government guidelines to the letter
  • We offer a self-service check-in, so you don’t have to have any contact with us, unless of course you need something - then we are available 24/7
  • Our lodges are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards
  • Our hot tubs are treated with the same stringent, fully sanctioned cleaning methods
  • We are still offering our little extras (afternoon teas, pamper sessions, etc) but all with extra precautions in place so you don’t have to worry about a thing. Leave that to us.

At South Winchester Lodges, your own private lodges come with everything you need – private kitchen, beautiful facilities, hot tubs, sheets so soft and inviting, you’ll be asleep before your head hits the pillow. And the best thing about us? You can enjoy all the wonderful things you have come to expect from a holiday, minus the crowds! Your lodge is surrounded by beautiful woods, leading on to a golf course. There are nature trails, woodland walks and hidden nooks and crannies to explore.  This is the perfect ‘great escape’.

As well as all the luxuries on-site, there are some fantastic local opportunities for nature lovers. The New Forest is a short journey from us. Walk, cycle, meander and hike your way up through this stunning national park with its varied mix of open heathlands and ancient woodlands. The only other inhabitants you will be aware of are the New Forest ponies. How about visiting the South Downs National Park?  Think rolling hills and natural tranquillity with the best spots for a picnic and fresh country air.

For those with little holidaymakers, we are happy to say that Marwell ZooPeppa Pig World and Paulton’s Park are now open! You just need to book your ticket online. These local attractions and so many more can still be enjoyed; it just needs a little planning.

Since you have everything you need in your lodge, you may want to stick to relaxing picnics and lovely meals in, but if you do fancy having a night off from cooking then Winchester has a whole host of restaurants taking part in the “eat out to help out” scheme. Here’s a handful for you:

Whatever you fancy doing on your stay-cation, from the relaxing and pampering, to the hiking and trail riding, Winchester has it all and we cannot wait to host your stay here.

We hope to see you soon!
